Technical Project Manager

Salary: £75-90k (excellent bonus on top of this)

Location: London (relaxed about hybrid working, if preferred)


We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Project Manager to join our client - a rapidly expanding Sports Analytics company.


The Technical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of their price forecasting software products in the sports industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing projects from initiation to delivery, coordinating and managing multiple teams across various departments, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of projects. You must have excellent project management skills, technical expertise in software development, and experience in the sports industry.

 
Key responsibilities:

  • You will be a key link between the business teams, trading teams, product teams, key stakeholders, and the technology engineering teams, in aligning and tracking priorities, identifying issues, and managing delivery streams and priorities.
  • Support business prioritisation and ensure common awareness of timelines and objectives across the delivery teams.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure project requirements are well understood and executed according to plan.
  • Lead project meetings and facilitate communication between team members.
 

Experience and knowledge:

  • IT skills.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific software or programmes.
  • Managing Agile development methodologies, DevOps practices, cloud technologies, and project management tools.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, leading technical discussions, and communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders.


Skills and competencies:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the sports industry and price forecasting concepts preferred.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.


Desirable:

  • Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of CICD methods.
  • Agile/Scrum/Iteration based Development/Change methods.
  • TDD.
  • Experience in change management or a related field, with a proven track record of leading successful change initiatives.
  • Experience as a Technical Project Manager or related role in the software industry, with experience in the sports industry preferred.
  • Technical expertise in software development, with a strong understanding of web applications, APIs, and data analytics.
  • Certification: PMP or Scrum certification is a plus.
